When Should You Reach Out to Your Wedding Florist?

One of the questions I get asked most often is: “When should we book our florist?”

And honestly? Sooner than you think.

Most couples start looking for their wedding florist once the venue is secured and that’s usually the perfect time to reach out. Your florals play such a big role in the overall feel of your wedding day, from the mood and colour palette right down to the tiny details on the tables. The earlier we start chatting, the more intentional and cohesive everything can be.

That being said, you don’t need to have every single detail figured out before contacting us. In fact, that’s what we’re here for.

A lot of couples worry they need a full Pinterest board, exact flower names, and a perfectly planned vision before enquiring. Trust me you don’t. Sometimes all it takes is a few inspiration images, a colour palette, or even just a feeling you want your day to have.

The best weddings happen when couples trust the process.

As floral designers, we look at the bigger picture, the season, flower availability, the venue, textures, colours, movement, lighting, and how everything works together. We guide you through what’s realistic, what’s beautiful, and what will photograph like a dream.

And sometimes? The magic happens when you let go a little.

Flowers are seasonal, nature is unpredictable, and creativity works best when there’s room to create something truly special rather than copying a photo stem-for-stem.

So if you’re planning your wedding and wondering whether it’s “too early” to enquire, it probably isn’t. Reach out, start the conversation, and let your florist help bring your vision to life.

We’ve got you!
